Why Sharing Your Creativity Feels So Scary (And When to Let It Go Anyway)

Our creativity is a core part of the blueprint within all of us and I think because of that, it can feel extremely vulnerable to engage with it and even more so to share it or allowing it (or you) to be seen.

But I think it's helpful to remember that as integral of a part that our creativity is, on the other hand, it's also something that flows through us from a force outside of and separate from ourselves.

Because when we can remind ourselves that, yes, sharing our creativity can be vulnerable, we can also remember that it's not always meant to be held onto and that there can be both freedom and power in letting it go.

"Letting it go" can be as simple as moving the creative idea from your brain to physical form, to sharing it with one person (or many!) or showing it to the world in a big way.

Not everything is meant to be seen (sometimes things are just for us) but not everything is meant to be held onto. We are the only ones who can know the difference.

But for this week, we might ask ourselves:

  • What are my fears around allowing my creativity to be seen in some way?

  • Alternatively, what's the best case scenario of what could happen in sharing my creativity or myself in some way?

  • What's one step or action I can take to share my creativity or allow it to be seen?
