Help! I Have Too Many Creative Ideas (And Now I'm Doing Nothing)
I've noticed as a creative person that I can often have 100 creative ideas happening or that I want to happen at the same time.
I don't think that will ever change (also being neurospicy) and it's not that it ever really needs to be because it't not necessarily a bad thing.
.......until it becomes paralyzing.
Sometimes I have found that having all of these ideas can be incredibly inspiring and I love the options and variety of how my creativity wants to be expressed.
But sometimes it can have the opposite effect and instead of feeling inspired, I feel overwhelmed and......well, paraylized. Frozen. Stuck.
When we are overwhelmed by our creative ideas or where to start or unsure what to work on, the very thing that we are inspired by can be the very thing that inhibits us.
This is actually when energy work (and of course, tapping) can be of great use.
So we can understand not only how the perception of too many options can be a form of self-sabotage but also so we can understand where our energy actually does want (or need!) to go.
It doesn't mean that we can *only* work on one thing (although it could), it just means being clear from moment to moment "where is my energy best spent?"
So here are some questions I am asking myself this week:
When does creative idea overload help me and when does it hurt me?
If my energy could speak, where would it say it would want to go?
What difference would it make if I directed my energy intentionally for ________ amount of time towards ________ (creative idea / project)
